Symptoms
Young plants show chlorosis of the younger leaves. General plant development is delayed and growth is stunted. Headforming is inhibited and crops are more susceptible to fungal infections.
White cabbage develops succulent, brittle leaf tissue.
Reasons
Sulphur deficiency (left)
S deficiency can easily be confused with lack of N. Symptoms like delayed and stunted growth are similar, but chlorosis rather occurs on younger leaves first with S undersupply, whereas N deficiency symptoms are first visible on older foliage.
